Perhaps you could try it anyway.Īll I know is I installed iTiVo because the the HNP and TiVo Transfer is basically a waste of time in that if you want to make "archival" back-up copies to DVD of programs on the TiVo you cannot do this for the majority of programs as they are copyright protected and the TiVo transfer software won't let you do it whereas the iTiVo software will. I cannot recollect having to do anything special to get the iTiVo to work though in that situation. So I am not sure whether you needed the HNP or not. I already had the HNP installed on my iMac when I installed iTiVo on it.
As for the Home networking package being required even if using iTiVo, that I am not sure of. When I said MAC I mean't my iMac, MacIntosh computer. I will try to say a couple of things here. So Im backed up in a corner again? Even if u use the MAC apps, u still need the MAK, so nothing is free then?
